Cameroon's Midfield Anchor: Eyong Enoh
Early CareerEyong Enoh embarked on his football journey at the tender age of 15 with Tiko Youngstars in Cameroon. In 2003, he joined Mount Cameroon FC, where he honed his skills and earned recognition.
Journey Abroad
In 2004, Enoh ventured to Northern Cyprus, signing with Magusa Türk Gücü. He made a significant impact, playing 36 matches and scoring once in the 2004/2005 season.
South African Adventure
Enoh's career took a new turn in 2006 when he joined Ajax Cape Town in South Africa. Within a year, he became a regular starter, amassing 31 appearances and scoring a goal in the 2007/2008 season.
Trial and Tribulations
Enoh's breakthrough seemed imminent in 2008 when he had a trial with Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. However, the move fell through, leading him to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Arrival in Amsterdam
In September 2008, Enoh found his home at AFC Ajax in Amsterdam. He signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for another two years. His debut for Ajax came against Feyenoord on September 21st, 2008, where he made a brief appearance as a substitute.
Rise to Prominence
Enoh's first goal for Ajax came in a UEFA Cup match against Olympique de Marseille on March 18th, 2009. He continued to impress, playing a pivotal role in Ajax's run to the 2010 Dutch Cup title.
International Recognition
Enoh's performances for Ajax earned him a call-up to the Cameroon national team. He has represented his country on numerous occasions and has become an integral part of the midfield.
