Biography of Fabian Bourzat

Fabian Bourzat is a French figure skater who specializes in ice dance. He has been performing with Natalie Pechalat and together they have achieved great success. The pair has been crowned the European champions in 2011 and 2012, as well as the champions of France in 2009, 2011, and 2012. As of June 2011, they held the second position in the rankings of the International Skating Union (ISU).

Unique Performances and Music Choices

Natalie and Fabian are known for their original choreographies and unconventional music choices. For their free dance in the 2006-2007 season, they used the composition "Four Seasons," which was specially written for them by Assen Merzouki, with the choreography done by the composer's brother. Their inspiration for their free dances in the 2005-2006 season (set to "Les Misérables") and the 2004-2005 season (set to "Cats") came from a friend of Fabian's who worked in these musicals.

Moving to Moscow

In the summer of 2008, Natalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat made the decision to leave their coach, M. Zazoui, and move to Moscow to work with Alexander Zhulin. They had previously consulted with Zhulin and were impressed with the results of their collaboration. In the 2008-2009 season, they achieved podium finishes at both stages of the Grand Prix they participated in, winning bronze at Skate Canada and silver at NHK Trophy. However, they were unable to qualify for the final. At the French Championships, in the absence of the team leaders Delobel and Schoenfelder, they claimed the top spot.

Narrowly Missing the Podium at the European Championships

At the European Championships, Natalie and Fabian narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place. They were only 0.36 points away from third place, with the English pair Kerr and Kerr surpassing them.
