Early Life and Career

Nico Herzog, born and raised in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, began his hockey journey with local junior teams. In 2012, he made his professional debut with HC Zug in the Swiss National League (NLA).

North American Experience

Herzog's talent caught the attention of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who drafted him in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Draft. He spent the following season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ) with the Quebec Remparts, where he honed his skills against North American competition. Additionally, he briefly appeared in five games for the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Return to Switzerland

In 2014, Herzog returned to Switzerland and rejoined HC Zug, where he has established himself as a key player. Since 2015, he has been a member of the Zurich Lions, where he continues to excel in the NLA.

International Career

Herzog has also been a mainstay on the Swiss national team. He made his international debut in 2013 and has since represented his country at several major tournaments, including the 2017 IIHF World Championship.

Current Status

At present, Herzog is participating in the 2022 IIHF World Championship in Finland. As one of Switzerland's top forwards, he is expected to play a pivotal role in their quest for success.
