Club Career
During his career, Ravanelli played for several clubs, including renowned Italian teams such as Juventus and Lazio, as well as top French clubs like Olympique Marseille. He also had stints with English clubs Middlesbrough and Derby County.
Success at Juventus
Ravanelli had his best years at Juventus, where he achieved great success. He won various prestigious trophies with the club, including the Serie A title in the 1994/1995 season, the Coppa Italia in the same season, the Supercoppa Italiana in 1995, the UEFA Champions League in 1995/1996, and the UEFA Cup in 1992/1993. He formed a formidable attacking trio with Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluca Vialli, which was highly regarded during that time.
Unsuccessful Stints
However, Ravanelli's move to England proved to be a disappointment. Despite scoring a hat-trick in his debut match against Liverpool (which was also the opening match of the Premier League in the 1996/1997 season), he and Middlesbrough were unable to maintain their place in the top tier of English football. His transfer to Middlesbrough is considered one of the most unsuccessful deals in the club's history.
Ravanelli also had relatively unsuccessful spells with Marseille and Lazio, where he showed glimpses of his talent but was unable to reach his previous level of performance.
