Early Life and Club Career
Federico Insúa, an Argentinian footballer born in Buenos Aires, began his professional career with Argentinos Juniors in 1997. After five successful seasons, he joined Independiente in 2002 and immediately claimed the Argentine Primera División (Apertura) title.
After a brief stint with Spanish side Málaga, Insúa returned to Argentina in 2005 and signed with Boca Juniors. With Boca, he achieved international success by winning the Recopa Sudamericana and Copa Sudamericana.
European Sojourns and Return to Argentina
In 2006, Insúa moved to the German Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach. While he was a regular starter, the team's poor performance prompted him to leave after one season.
Following his European experience, Insúa played in Mexico from 2007 to 2009 before returning to Boca Juniors in 2009.
International Career
Insúa has been a member of the Argentina national team since 2003 and was among the candidates for the 2010 FIFA World Cup squad.
