Sent a group of soldiers disguised as civilians to capture the island, its guards, and a ferry connecting it to the right bank
Directed the construction of makeshift ferries and ensured the successful crossing of troops and equipment
Heroic Actions and Recognition:
Awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on October 26, 1943, for his leadership and bravery during the Dnieper crossing

Continued Military Service:Served in the Red Army after the war
