Fran Karačić: Croatian-Australian Football Defender
Early Life and Club CareerFran Karačić was born in Australia to a Croatian father, granting him the opportunity to play for either nation. As a youth, he played for Zagreb and Lokomotiva before going on loan to Lučko in 2015 to gain experience. He made his debut in the Croatian Second Division that year.
Karačić returned to Lokomotiva later in 2015 and debuted in the Croatian First Division against Dinamo Zagreb. His first goal for the club came against Osijek in August 2016.
International Career
In 2017, Karačić played for Croatia's U-21 team before deciding to represent Australia in 2018. FIFA approved his switch of allegiance, allowing him to make his international debut for the Socceroos.
