Early Political Involvement

Gatel's political journey began in 2001 when she led the right-wing list in municipal elections in the town of Chateugiron and was subsequently elected mayor. In 2014, Gatel's political career reached a new milestone when she was elected vice-president of the Association of Mayors of France. The same year, she secured the second position on a joint right-wing party list in the senatorial elections for Ille-et-Vilaine and was duly elected to the Senate.

Role in the French Senate

As a member of the Senate, Gatel serves on the Constitutional Regulation, Legislation, Universal Suffrage, Rules and General Administration Commission. She has been an active participant in parliamentary debates and decision-making processes.
