At St. Peter's School, Freddie excelled in various sports, such as hockey, sprinting, and boxing. He also showed a talent for music and painting, constantly making drawings for friends and family. Recognizing his musical abilities, the school's director wrote a letter to his parents, suggesting they allow him to pursue music seriously. They agreed, and Freddie began learning to play the piano and singing in the school choir. He also participated in school theatrical productions.
