Friedrich Adolf Krummacher was a German poet and theologian. He was the brother of Gottfried Daniel Krummacher and the father of Friedrich Wilhelm Krummacher.
Early Life and Education
Krummacher was born in 1767 in Lingen, Germany. He studied theology at the universities of Lingen and Halle. After completing his studies, he served as the director of the gymnasium in Moers from 1793 to 1800.
Professor and Pastor
In 1800, Krummacher was appointed professor of theology at the University of Duisburg. He later became the pastor of St. Ansgar's Church in Bremen.
Literary Career
Krummacher became famous for his moralizing parables and apologues for youth. These works were translated into many European languages and achieved great popularity in Russia. He also wrote hymns and sermons.
