Friedrich von Flotow
Friedrich von Flotow, a German opera composer, was born into an aristocratic family. His early education was at home, and he later studied in Paris. Flotow's initial operas, premiered in private homes, garnered him limited recognition.
Notable Operas
While several of Flotow's operas enjoyed success during his lifetime, including "Indra," "La Veuve Grapin," and "L'Ombre," only two have stood the test of time: "Martha" and "Stradella." Composed in the Italian style, Flotow's operas are renowned for their melody and theatrical flair.
