Cuban wrestler, he participated in the Pan American Games and Pan American Championships. In May 2018, he won a bronze medal in the 97 kg category at the Pan American Championships in Lima.

Continental Success

In April 2019, he won a gold medal in the same competition in Buenos Aires. In March 2020, he became the silver medalist at the Pan American Championships in Ottawa, Canada. Shortly after, he secured a license to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the Pan American Olympic Qualifier in Ottawa.

Olympic Debut and Paris Bronze

At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, he lost to Finnish wrestler Arvi Savolainen in his first match in the 1/8 final stage, finishing 13th overall. In 2024, he won a bronze medal in the 97 kg weight category at the Paris Olympics, defeating Uzbek wrestler Rustam Assakalov by a judge's decision in the bronze medal match.
