Under the leadership of manager Mickey Adams, Hart played a crucial role in the consecutive championship seasons of 2000-2001, helping Brighton rise in the football league. Despite experiencing five managerial changes during his time at the club, Hart remained a key player for Brighton.

In May 2007, after participating in several games for Brighton in the 2006-2007 season, Hart signed a new one-year contract with the club. He continued to wear different jersey numbers throughout his time at the club, including number 12 in the 2007-2008 season and number 15 in the 2008-2009 season.

In December 2007, Hart joined 'Havant & Waterlooville', a club in the Southern Conference, the second division of the English football conference. His signing was a result of Charlie Oatway, a former Albion player, leaving professional football due to injury. Hart's debut with Havant & Waterlooville took place in the 2007-2008 season during a Football League Trophy match in Swansea, South Wales.

Hart briefly left Brighton in June 2008 when he was released from the club by manager Dean Wilkins. However, he rejoined the team under new manager Mickey Adams. Hart's dedication and contributions to the team made him an integral part of Brighton's success.
