Unknown Greek Astrologer

A prominent astrologer of the late 5th and early 6th centuries CE, the unnamed Greek astrologer should not be confused with the astrologer of the same name who was executed in 372 CE, as recorded by Ammianus Marcellinus.

Early Life and Education

The astrologer was a student of Proclus Diadochus and a brother of the renowned philosopher Ammonius.

Observations and Writings

Between 498 and 510 CE, the astrologer made significant observations in Alexandria. His contributions to astronomy and astrology include commentaries on the work of Paulus Alexandrinus and several treatises, such as the eight-chapter "Astronomical Didactics."

Legacy

The astrologer's works established him as a respected authority in astronomy and astrology for centuries to come. His insights and observations continued to influence scholars long after his time.
