Biography of Louis Hamon
Early Life and TrainingLouis Hamon, also known as Cheiro, was born as William John Warner near Dublin, Ireland in 1866. He discovered his strange ability to read people's destinies through their palms at a young age. He learned this rare craft in India, where he was mentored by an Indian Brahmin. After his travels in the East, Hamon returned to London to begin his unconventional career.
Rise to Fame
Louis Hamon gained fame in the late 19th century and became one of the most renowned palmists or cheiromancers in history. Among his notable clients in the 20th century were Mark Twain, Sarah Bernhardt, Mata Hari, Oscar Wilde, Thomas Edison, the Prince of Wales, and many others. His encounter with Mark Twain was particularly interesting, as Twain initially intended to expose him as a charlatan but ended up leaving with a brilliant story after meeting the palmist. Hamon also predicted Twain's future wealth, at a time when the writer was almost destitute.
Accurate Predictions and Assistance
Louis Hamon, or Cheiro, used his palmistry skills to predict the destinies of individuals and occasionally assist the police and authorities. His prediction regarding General Kitchener, forecasting a brilliant career followed by a death at sea at the age of 66, became widely known and came true when the general perished on a sunken cruiser at the age of 66.
He also foretold the sinking of the Titanic and attempted to warn people through letters, urging them to avoid water travel. Even those who were skeptical of such practices believed in Louis Hamon's abilities.
He accurately predicted the fate of Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his family, as well as the 1917 revolution and the end of Rasputin. He also foresaw the course of World War II and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1947. As interest in predictions and palmistry declined in Europe, Louis Hamon, who loved to travel, moved to America and opened his own bureau in Hollywood. He worked with actors and actresses, with up to twenty people seeking his guidance each day. However, as time went on, his predictions became less successful.
Later Years and Legacy
Louis Hamon passed away at the age of 70 after a severe heart attack on October 8, 1936, in Hollywood. His widow, Countess Lena Hamon, claimed that her husband accurately predicted his own death a day before it occurred. Interestingly, Hamon never desired to get married but always knew that he would enter into matrimony towards the end of his life, which eventually happened.
