Biography of Gennadiy Zubov

Gennadiy Zubov is a Ukrainian footballer and midfielder, best known for his performances with the Donetsk-based club, Shakhtar. He played for Shakhtar for 10 years, participating in 223 matches and scoring 57 goals in the Ukrainian championship. Zubov has also played for clubs such as Stal Alchevsk, Illichivets Mariupol, Metalurh Donetsk, and Zorya Luhansk.

In October 2007, Zubov terminated his contract with the Luhansk-based club, Kommunalnyk, which competes in the second division of the Ukrainian championship. In January 2008, he trained with Stal Alchevsk, but was not included in the squad for the championship. At the age of 30, Zubov decided to retire from professional football.

From 1996 to 2003, Zubov represented the Ukrainian national team, playing in 29 matches and scoring 3 goals. In July 2008, he transitioned to coaching and joined the football academy of Shakhtar Donetsk, where he currently works with the under-15 youth team.
