Jerome Boateng - Biography

Jerome Boateng is a German footballer of Ghanaian descent, currently playing as a defender for the German club Bayern Munich. He was born on September 3, 1988, in Berlin, Germany.

Early Career

Boateng began his football career in the youth team of Tennis Borussia Berlin. He showed great talent from an early age and quickly gained recognition as one of the most promising players in his position. In 2007, he made his debut in the Bundesliga playing for Hertha Berlin.

Club Career

In 2007, Boateng signed a five-year contract with Hamburger SV, where he played for two seasons. He then moved to Manchester City in 2010 for a transfer fee of £10.4 million. However, in 2011, Bayern Munich signed Boateng for a fee of €14 million. Since then, he has become an integral part of the Bayern Munich defense.

International Career

Boateng's grandfather is rumored to be the cousin of Helmut Rahn, a member of the 1954 German World Cup-winning team.
