Early Life and Education
Friedrich Ernst von Keller was born in Berlin, Prussia, and pursued his studies in two prestigious universities: Heidelberg University and Berlin University.
Political Career
Entry into PoliticsVon Keller's political journey began in 1850 when he served as an administrator in Dobberphul, Western Pomerania. In 1866, he entered the Prussian House of Representatives as a deputy from the electoral district of Schwerin 6 (Greifenberg, Western Pomerania).
Rise to Prominence
From 1874 onward, von Keller held the position of First Vice-President of the House of Representatives. His influence grew, and in 1879, he was elected as President of the House, a role he served with distinction until 1897.
Party Affiliations
Von Keller's political allegiance shifted over time. Initially a member of the Conservative Party, he later joined the Free Conservative Party. However, he eventually returned to the Conservative Party.
State Council Appointment
In 1884, von Keller was appointed to the Prussian State Council, demonstrating his exceptional status in Prussian politics.
Provincial Assembly
In addition to his national responsibilities, von Keller also served as President of the Provincial Assembly of Pomerania from 1876 to 1906.
Honors and Memberships
Von Keller's achievements were recognized with the prestigious Order of the Black Eagle. He was also a member of the student association "Sachsen-Borrussia Heidelberg."
