Biography of Georgina Rizk
Georgina Rizk, the first and only Lebanese beauty to win the title of 'Miss Universe' in 1971, was born on July 23, 1953, in Beirut, Lebanon, into a Christian family. Her father was Lebanese, and her mother was Italian.

Miss Universe Crown
In 1971, the 18-year-old brunette with huge green eyes was crowned 'Miss Universe' at the competition held in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. She became the first woman from the Middle East and the fourth woman from Asia to win this title. Georgina made a memorable appearance at the pageant, wearing a revealing top and short shorts.

Previous Beauty Pageants
Prior to participating in the international competition, Georgina won the national beauty pageant 'Miss Lebanon 1970'. She also participated in the 'Miss World' competition that same year, but did not place among the winners.
Controversy and Tragedy
In 1972, the 'Miss Universe' pageant took place at the Cerromar Beach Hotel in Dorado, Puerto Rico. A month before the televised broadcast of the competition, on May 30, 1972, 16 Christian pilgrims from Puerto Rico, along with other victims, were killed in a terrorist attack at Lod Airport in Israel. The mass murder was carried out by three members of the Japanese Red Army on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Due to the fear of retaliatory terrorist actions, the government did not allow Georgina Rizk to attend the coronation ceremony of the new Miss Universe. Lebanon also refused to participate in the competition that year.
Marriage and Tragedy
In 1976, Georgina married Ali Hassan Salameh, a wealthy Palestinian who was the head of operations for the terrorist organization 'Black September' and the founder of an elite military unit known as Force 17. Salameh was infamous for orchestrating the massacre of Israeli athletes and coaches at the Munich Olympics in 1972. Georgina became Salameh's second wife. The couple spent their honeymoon in Hawaii and visited Disneyland. When Rizk became pregnant, she returned to Beirut. Salameh was assassinated on January 22, 1979, by operatives of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, as he was a key figure in the Munich massacre. His killing was part of the operation known as 'Wrath of God'.
Current Life
Currently, Georgina Rizk is married to the renowned Lebanese singer Walid Toufic. They have two children together, and she serves as a judge in the 'Miss Lebanon' competition.
