Early Life and CareerBorn into a Ukrainian family, Vasyl Ivanovich Hrytsak embarked on a distinguished career in the field of national security. He held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) from December 1991 to December 1992. Simultaneously, he also served as the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the SBU.
Leadership at the SBU
In 1992, Hrytsak assumed the leadership of the Main Intelligence Directorate, which was then known as the Main Intelligence Directorate of the National Security Bureau of Ukraine (SNBU). Under his command, the agency was renamed the SBU.
