Early Life and Education

Georgy Boyadjiev was born on April 18, 1946, in Ufa, Russia, to a military family. He graduated from the University of Gorky in 1968, receiving a degree in linguistics.

Literary Career

Boyadjiev's literary career began in 1967, when his poems and translations appeared in prominent literary journals such as "Yunost," "Moscow," and "Druzhba Narodov." From 1970 to 1974, he served as an editor for the journal "Literary Armenia."

Contribution to Armenian-Russian Literature

Throughout his career, Boyadjiev has been a prolific translator, bridging the gap between Armenian and Russian literature. He has translated the works of renowned Armenian writers, including Hovhannes Tumanyan, Vahan Terian, Vahan Tekeyan, and Daniel Varuzhan.

Academic and Critical Work

Apart from his literary contributions, Boyadjiev has also been a respected scholar and critic. He served as a senior research fellow at the M. Saryan Museum from 1978 to 2004. His published articles explore topics ranging from Armenian-Russian cultural connections to the work of Russian and Armenian poets.

Literary Affiliations

Boyadjiev has been a member of the Writers' Union of Armenia since 1978. His contributions to Intercultural literary exchange have been recognized with the "Druzhba Narodov" magazine award in 2010.
