Biography of Jeta Burlacu
Early Life and EducationJeta Burlacu is a Moldovan singer who began singing at the age of seven. She received violin training at a music school in Bălți and graduated from a music college in Bălți with a degree in violin. In 1993, she enrolled in the Chisinau Conservatory, specializing in popular music and jazz.
Career
Jeta Burlacu has won numerous awards at international jazz, popular music, and folklore festivals in countries such as Romania, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Ukraine, Belarus, and more. From 1998 to 2011, she was a soloist for the vocal jazz band "UniVox". In 2005-2007, she taught vocal jazz at the Academy of Arts in Moldova. She received a scholarship from the Soros Foundation in 2006 for her achievements in music.
In 2007, Jeta Burlacu joined the famous Cuban group "Buena Vista Social Club" for a tour. In 2008, she represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Century of Love". She also performed at the finals of the international festival "Cerbul de Aur" in Romania in 2009.
Jeta Burlacu has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra "Teleradio Moldova" since 2009 and has collaborated with jazz bands such as "Alex Calancea Band", "Angry Band", and the folk music orchestra "Taraf Lautaresc". She has toured and performed in countries like France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, China, England, Belarus, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, and more. She is also an Ambassador of Goodwill for the United Nations Population Fund in Moldova.

Jeta Burlacu has furthered her musical education through various masterclasses and scholarships. In 2010, she attended a jazz singing masterclass with Bobby McFerrin in Moscow. She also received a scholarship from the Soros Foundation in 2006.
