Early Life and Education

Writer, Poetwas born in Georgia and graduated from the Tbilisi Polytechnic Institute in 1983. He later pursued his passion for filmmaking at the Shota Rustaveli Georgian State Theatre Institute of Performing Arts (1993), under the guidance of Георгий Шенгелия. In addition, he attended directing courses at the Moscow State University of Cinematography (VGIK).

Journalism and Literary Career

Hisliterary and artistic endeavors began in the 1980s, with his works being published in the Georgian magazines "Tsisqari" and "Mнатоби." He also worked as a journalist for the Georgian television program "Ekraan" from 1984 to 1987.

Academic Pursuits

In 1993, Herelocated to the United Kingdom to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Kent. He earned a Master of Philosophy degree in Film and Media in 1993.

Filmmaking and Screenwriting

Hewrote screenplays and directed several short films, including "Requiem" (1992), "Love in London" (1999), and "Litter" (2003). His works were predominantly in Georgian, Russian, and English.

Doctoral Research and Legacy

In 2004, Hecompleted his doctoral dissertation at the University of Kent, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Film and Mass Media. He was also involved in the establishment of the St. George Georgian Orthodox Church in London, serving as its first Chairman of Council.

Tragic Passing

Hepassed away suddenly on February 23, 2006, in London, due to a heart attack. His legacy as a writer, poet, filmmaker, and community leader continues to inspire generations of Georgians and beyond.
