Biography of Sandro Wagner
Sandro Wagner is a German football player and forward for the club "Hoffenheim". He joined the youth team of "Hertha" at the age of 8 and later joined Munich's "Bayern". Wagner completed his preparation for the 2007/08 season with the main team. Due to the failures of Jan Schlaudraff, Lucas Podolski, and Luca Toni, he made his debut for Munich on July 21, 2007, against Bremen's "Werder". On July 25, he started against "Stuttgart" and scored his first career goal. On August 11, he debuted in the Bundesliga, replacing Werder's forward Miroslav Klose in the 87th minute. On June 9, 2008, he signed a two-year contract with the second division club "Duisburg", effective from July 2008.
In January 2010, Sandro Wagner moved to Bremen and signed a contract with the local "Werder" until June 30, 2014. He made his debut for the German under-21 national team in a match against the youth team of Israel, coming on as a substitute in the 68th minute for Rowen Hennings. After that, the head coach of the German under-21 national team, Horst Hrubesch, called up Sandro for the next four European Championship qualifying matches for the youth teams but did not play a single game until the final. However, in the final, Ashkan Dejagah was unable to participate due to an accumulation of yellow cards. Wagner started the game and scored 2 goals, with the second goal being voted the best goal of June in Germany. The German under-21 national team won the match 4-0 and became the champion of the European Championship.
