Grzegorz Lato, born on April 8, 1950, is a Polish football player and right winger, considered one of the best players in the history of the Polish national team. He made a name for himself in the 1974 FIFA World Cup, where Poland reached the third place. Lato had the ability to overcome the defensive lines of opponents with ease, similar to how Quinto opened intricate safes.

Lato began his career playing for "Stal" Melec (Poland) from 1966 to 1979. He then moved to "Lokeren" (Belgium) from 1980 to 1982, with the permission of the Polish government due to his successful performance in the 1978 World Cup. He also played for "Atletico" (Mexico) from 1982 to 1983 and "Toronto Nacional" (Canada) from 1983 to 1985. After retiring as a player, Lato worked as a coach in Canada and Poland.

Throughout his career, Lato achieved several titles and awards. He won the Olympic Games in 1972, became the vice-champion in 1976, and won the third prize in the 1974 and 1982 FIFA World Cups. Lato also continued to play football in Canada and later became a coach for the "North York Rockets" in the newly formed Canadian amateur football league.

In the 1990s, Lato returned to Poland and became a coach for "Stal" Melec and later for "Olimpia" Poznan. He experienced success with both teams, leading them to promotion and respectable positions in their respective leagues. Lato was offered the position of the Polish national team coach in 1994, but he declined due to unacceptable conditions. Currently, he works as a consultant for the Polish Football Federation.
