Gökhan Töre's Youth Career

Gökhan Töre, a Turkish footballer with German descent, began his football journey in 1999 with Adler Delbrück. Four years later, he joined the academy of Bayer Leverkusen before catching the attention of Chelsea scouts in 2008.

Chelsea and Hamburg

Töre joined Chelsea in January 2009, signing a contract until 2012. However, he did not make any first-team appearances for the English club, playing only for the reserve team. In June 2011, he left Chelsea for Hamburg on a contract until 2014, making him the third player to move from Chelsea to the German club.

Rubin Kazan

Rumors of Töre's interest in Rubin Kazan emerged in November 2011. Despite initial denials, he signed a four-year contract with the Russian club in July 2012 for a transfer fee of around €6-7 million. In his debut season, he was sent off in a match against Kuban Krasnodar and received a three-match suspension.

Controversies and International Career

In November 2012, Töre's agent accused Rubin Kazan of extortion. The player also skipped a match due to alleged illness, leading to rumors of him leaving the club. However, Töre denied these rumors, stating his intention to fulfill his contract.

Töre represented Turkey at the under-15, -16, and -17 levels. In 2009, he debuted for the Turkey U21s, and in 2011, he made his first appearance for the senior national team.
