Biography of Goran Sablic

Goran Sablic is a Croatian football player and coach. He started his career as a player in Hajduk, and in 2002, he moved to Dynamo Kyiv for a fee of 2.5 million euros. Sablic signed a four-year contract with the Ukrainian club, which was later extended until 2011. However, due to frequent injuries, he played fewer games for Dynamo Kyiv over time. In 2007, Sablic was loaned to Hajduk. He made a few appearances under the guidance of Yuriy Semin upon his return to Kyiv, but Valeriy Gazzaev decided not to include him in the team. In total, Sablic played 70 games for Dynamo Kyiv, scoring 3 goals. He also played 29 matches in European competitions, scoring 1 goal. In April 2010, Sablic reached an agreement with Dynamo Kyiv to become a free agent and returned to his homeland. Unfortunately, another injury in Hajduk led Sablic to decide to end his career in late 2010.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Sablic enrolled in coaching courses and soon obtained his coaching diploma. In May 2013, he took charge of his first club, serving as the interim head coach of Split. However, he was fired after just three matches. Sablic continued to work with the club's youth teams and returned as the head coach of Split's main team in September 2015. He stayed with the team until July 18, 2016. In early 2017, Sablic was appointed as the head coach of Bosnian club "Siroki Brijeg." In May of the same year, he won his first trophy as a coach, leading the team to victory in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup 2016/17. In the following season, Sablic's team finished fourth in the country's championship and reached the quarter-finals of the national cup. On June 7, 2018, the Croatian coach was presented as the new head of the coaching staff of Moldovan club "Sheriff." Less than six months later, his new team won the 2018 Moldovan championship.
