Career Beginnings

Andrew Dominik, an Australian-born American filmmaker, began his career with the award-winning short film "Swinger" (1995) at the Cannes Film Festival. His breakout feature-length film, "Two Hands" (1999), a crime comedy starring Heath Ledger, brought him mainstream success.

International Breakthrough

In the 2000s, Dominik ventured outside Australia, gaining critical acclaim for his US-based projects, including "The Informers" (2008), a retro drama based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel, and "Killing Them Softly" (2012), a political thriller exploring the themes of terrorism.
