Early Life and CareerGu Beibei ventured into the world of synchronized swimming in 1988. Her talent quickly caught the attention of the Beijing team, where she joined their ranks in 1989 under the guidance of coach Yan Lihe.
National Success
Gu Beibei's prowess shone through at the All-China Spartakiad in 1997 and 2001, where she emerged victorious. Her success continued at the XIV Asian Games in Busan in 2002, where she earned a silver medal in the duet event alongside Zhang Xiaohuan.
International Triumphs
In 2006, at the XV Asian Games in Doha, Gu Beibei reached the pinnacle of her career by securing a gold medal as part of the team event. Her Olympic debut came at the 2004 Athens Games, however, she narrowly missed out on the finals.
