Biography of Gunnar Lange

Gunnar Lange, a 57-year-old Danish major general, is currently serving as the Commander of NATO Special Forces. He holds a prominent position in NATO's International Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo (KFOR), where he is responsible for the logistical support of Allied forces in the region. With extensive experience in participating in United Nations' "blue helmet" peacekeeping missions in various parts of the world, this seasoned general from Denmark has been appointed to lead NATO's operation in Macedonia.

Leading NATO Operation in Macedonia

The goal of this operation, named "Main Harvest," is to disarm Albanian militants. The Macedonian army, with its limited resources, is unable to independently deal with well-armed insurgents. General Lange is confident in the success of the operation, which is expected to last for one month. However, he is concerned that the Albanians may surrender their old weapons while retaining their main arsenals. "We need to stay alert. Otherwise, it will turn out the same way it did in Kosovo," the Danish general warns.

Possible Meeting with Key Insurgent Leader

General Lange may have to meet with one of the leaders of the insurgents, Salki Cibair. Having lived in Copenhagen for 13 years, Cibair has now relocated to Macedonia. In an interview with a Danish newspaper, this Albanian stated that he would never part ways with his beloved "Kalashnikov."

Overall, Gunnar Lange's extensive experience and leadership skills make him a valuable asset in the NATO forces' efforts to maintain peace and security in Kosovo and Macedonia.
