Early Career and Demoscene Roots

Gustav Grefberg, a Swedish composer and musician known as Lizardking, emerged from the Amiga demoscene, where he created tracker music. He was involved with demo groups such as Alcatraz, The Silents, Razor 1911, The Black Lotus, and Triton.

Doskpop Pioneer

Grefberg's innovation came with the invention of the "Doskpop" musical genre. He released several albums in this style, including "Doskpop The Compilation" and "Memorial Songs 1+2."

Album Releases and Collaborations

In 1994, Grefberg released the cassette album "Mindlitter" with Martin Wall. He also participated in projects such as Merregnon and the Game Music Symphony Concert at Games Convention.

Game Music Composer

Gustav Grefberg became a staff composer for Starbreeze Studios, a game development company. He composed music for Starbreeze titles like Enclave, Justice, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Magus Dawn, and The Darkness. His soundtrack for "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" earned the award for "Best Game Soundtrack 2004" from the German gaming magazine GameStar.
