Burak Güven: The Journey of a Renowned Bassist and Musician

Early Years and Musical Roots

Burak Güven, a notable bassist and musician, was born on October 9, 1975, in Istanbul, Turkey. His musical journey commenced at the tender age of 14, when he acquired his first guitar.

From Virus to İstanbul Blues Company

At 15, Burak joined "Virus," a band he formed with friends, where he served as the lead vocalist. However, internal conflicts with guitarist Ercan Erökay forced him to leave the band and pursue his musical aspirations elsewhere.

Immersion in Bass and Opera

In 1993, Burak's musical trajectory took a significant turn when he obtained his first bass guitar. He became one of the founding members of "Istanbul Blues Company," contributing his bass-playing skills to four tracks on their album "Kokler." His musical versatility extended to opera as well, where he performed in the production of "Aşk İksiri."

Versatile Vocalist and Choir Member

Burak also lent his vocal talents to the Fahir Atakoglu choir, his voice gracing the Senfonik Konser CD. He further honed his skills by participating in the Mimi Festival in France with the band "Nekropsi," later collaborating with Tolga Yenilmez, also a member of the band, on electronic music projects.

Joining Mor ve Ötesi and Producer for Ayçi Şen

In 1997, Burak's career reached a pivotal moment when he joined the renowned Turkish rock band "Mor ve Ötesi," replacing the former bassist Alper Tekin. He has remained a core member of the band to this day.

Collaboration with Ayçi Şen

Beyond his work with Mor ve Ötesi, Burak's musicality extended to the realm of music production. In January 2009, he produced the album "Astronot" for Turkish singer Ayçi Şen, showcasing his versatility and talent beyond bass-playing and songwriting.
