American Hockey Player

Tony Amonteis a former American professional hockey player who played as a defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Amonte was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 8th round (207th overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

NHL Career

After signing with the Bruins as an undrafted free agent, Amonte made his NHL debut in the 1994-95 season. He spent three seasons with Boston before becoming an unrestricted free agent and signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2006.

In 2009, Amonte signed a two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens. He finished his NHL career after the 2010-11 season, having played in 1,174 regular season games and scoring 273 goals and 493 assists.

Post-Playing Career

Since retiring from playing, Amonte has worked as a hockey analyst and commentator for various networks, including NESN and NHL Network. He is also involved in several charitable endeavors, including the Tony Amonte Foundation, which supports youth hockey programs.
