Early Life and TrainingHans von Kulmbach was a skilled German painter and draftsman, renowned for his contributions to the art of engraving. Born in Kulmbach, Germany, he received his artistic education under the tutelage of the Italian artist Jacopo de' Barbari. It is believed that he may have also studied in the workshop of Albrecht Dürer, whose influence would later become evident in his own artistic style.
Nuremberg and Kracow
Von Kulmbach spent much of his career in the cities of Nuremberg and Kracow. He became a prominent figure within the artistic community of Nuremberg, where he executed numerous works for local churches and patrons. Among his most notable paintings in Nuremberg is the "Altar of the Heavenly Coronation of the Virgin" at the Church of St. Sebaldus.
