Biography of Harper Simon
Harper Simon (full name Harper James Simon) was born in 1972 in New York City to legendary musician Paul Simon of the famous duo 'Simon & Garfunkel' and his wife Peggy Harper. From a young age, Harper was drawn to music and began touring with his father, shaping his future around a career in music. However, he was determined to achieve success on his own merits and not rely on his father's accomplishments.

Early Career
Harper's first public performance was at the age of 4 when he appeared on the show 'Sesame Street' with his father, singing the song 'Bingo' and explaining to young viewers how records are made. As he grew up, Harper's musical interests leaned towards psychedelic rock and punk rock. He considered himself an expert on 20th-century rock music.

Musical Education and London Years
After attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Harper traveled to London where he spent several years writing music and playing in the band 'Menlo Park'. In 2009, Harper released his debut self-titled album 'Harper Simon' on his own label, Tulsi Records. He also served as one of the album's producers and enlisted the help of Bob Johnston to assemble a group in Nashville.

Friendship and Collaborations
Harper Simon is known to be a longtime friend of Sean Lennon, the son of legendary John Lennon and Yoko Ono. In interviews, Harper admitted that his father's fame slightly hindered him from making a name for himself earlier because he felt the need to prepare perfectly for his first album. He also believed that at the age of 20, unlike many musicians, he had nothing significant to say to the world yet.

Philanthropy
In 2005, Harper participated in a charity concert for the victims of the earthquake in Pakistan. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various musicians, including Steve Nieve, Steve Gadd, Sean Lennon, and his father, Paul Simon.
