Harriet Nelson, born on July 18, 1909, and passed away on October 2, 1994, was a renowned American singer and actress. She gained fame and recognition under the stage name Harriet Nelson, although she was born Peggy Lou Snyder in Des Moines, Iowa.

Early Career in Theater

Harriet started her career in the theater, where she participated in various vaudeville performances. Her exceptional voice and attractive appearance allowed her to secure leading roles in productions, making her a prominent figure on stage.

Meeting and Marriage with Ozzie Nelson

During one of her performances, Harriet met her future husband, jazz orchestra conductor and leader, Ozzie Nelson. Ozzie began inviting her to sing at his concerts, and for a while, she performed under the name Harriet Hilliard. Three years after their initial meeting, the couple decided to formalize their relationship and got married.

Success in Film and Television

Harriet Nelson had a significant presence in the film industry, often appearing as a singer in ensembles.
