Biography of Harry Blackstone Jr.
Harry Blackstone Jr., an American magician and television presenter, was born on June 30, 1934, in a small town in Michigan. From a young age, he was surrounded by an atmosphere of magic and celebration as his father was a renowned magician. In honor of his father, Harry was given his name and became immersed in the world of illusions.
As a baby, Harry participated in his father's shows, and as he grew older, he began to serve as his assistant. Over time, he became actively involved in his father's performances, creating new tricks and refining old illusions together.
Harry Blackstone Jr. graduated from the School of Arts in Redlands Valley, which is now named after him. During his time there, he dedicated much of his time to the exact sciences, as the art of illusionist often intertwines with the laws of physics and precise mathematical calculations.
After completing his education, Harry started performing alongside his father. Their shows always captivated audiences with seemingly impossible and mystical tricks, garnering great success.
Additionally, Harry developed several sets for aspiring illusionists, which gained significant popularity. Many current magicians began their journey with these simple props.
In his later years, Harry Blackstone Jr. ventured into television. In 1979, he appeared in the film "Mandrake" and achieved success in the legendary series "Santa Barbara." In 1989, he portrayed a magician in the series "Super Mario Super Show." Harry was a talented actor, and his characters were unusual and intriguing, attracting viewers with their elaborate actions.
Aside from concerts and television appearances, Harry Blackstone Jr. was also involved in writing. In 1976, his book "There's One Born Every Minute" was published and became highly popular among readers. In 1992, he released "My Life as a Magician Paperback." He also republished his father's book, "Secrets of Magic. Paperback."
In 1995, together with Charles Reynolds and Regina Reynolds, he published "The Blackstone Book of Magic and Illusion," which revealed many secrets and mysteries behind his magical performances.
In his final years, Harry Blackstone Jr. resided in Redlands Valley, California. He passed away on May 14, 1997, at his estate, succumbing to cancer.
