Hazi Abdul Noor: The World's Oldest Groom

Hazi Abdul Noor, an Indian man, holds the Guinness World Record for being the oldest groom ever at 120 years old. He married Samoei Bibi, a woman half his age at 60, in 2011. Noor believed that age should not be a barrier to experiencing family life, even at such an advanced age. Their wedding in the village of Satghari, northeastern India, attracted over 500 guests.

A Second Chance at Love

This was Noor's second marriage, as his first wife, Salima Khatun, had passed away in 2005. Finding a bride at his age proved challenging, but he eventually found Samoei, who promised to care for him and his children, some of whom were older than their stepmother.

Guinness World Record

Noor's age is a subject of debate, with the voter's list indicating 116 years old, while he claimed to be 120. However, even 116 would have been enough to surpass the previous Guinness World Record held by a 103-year-old American.

A Quiet Wedding

Wedding photographs show Noor and Bibi looking somewhat subdued, perhaps reflecting their advanced ages and the weight of their lives. Nonetheless, the ceremony fulfilled their desire to share their lives together.

A Large Family

Noor has two sons and four daughters, who have had children of their own, bringing his total family members to an impressive 122. His extended family welcomed Bibi into their lives and supported the couple in their decision to marry.
