Early Life and EducationHeinz Weixelbraun was born in the quaint town of Spittal in southern Austria. At the age of 18, he pursued his passion for the stage by enrolling in a drama school. Upon graduation, he moved to Vienna, where he caught the attention of renowned director Fritz Müller.

Weixelbraun's talent blossomed in his 1984 diploma performance under the tutelage of Josh Hanek. In 1985, he made his grand debut on the big stage with a pivotal role in Walter Pfaff's "Jakob von Gunten." He continued his meteoric rise with acclaimed performances in "Die Reisen vom Berge" and five other productions at the Berliner Volksbühne, gracing the repertory for six remarkable years.
Cinematic Embrace
Weixelbraun's dedication and versatility led him to cinema, where he made his mark in the crime drama "Tatort: Der kalte Tod." This marked a turning point in his career, as he balanced both theater and film with aplomb. In 1996, Weixelbraun was handpicked from a pool of 50 candidates to play the iconic Inspector Christian Böck in the popular television series "Kommissar Rex."
