Horst Zagert: German Artist, Set Designer, and Illustrator

Horst Zagert was a German artist, set designer, and illustrator. He was born into a baker's family in Dravsko-Pomorske, Poland and later moved to Hagenow, Mecklenburg. From 1953 to 1958, he studied at the Berlin University of the Arts under the renowned artist Henry Kilger.

Career in Theater

Starting in 1963, Zagert worked at the German Theatre, collaborating with the chief director Benno Besson and designing sets for his productions at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich. He also collaborated with other theaters in Germany. Some of his notable theatrical works include:
