Early Life and CareerNorwegian rock singer Ida Maria, born in the small town of Nesna, is the daughter of a Norwegian jazz musician. She currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden.
Maria rose to prominence in Norway in 2007, winning two national contests for emerging artists and performing at the By:Larm music festival. Her singles "Oh My God" and "Stella" became radio hits on NRK P3.
International Breakthrough and Recognition
Maria gained international recognition after appearing on BBC 2's "Later... with Jools Holland," being featured in an interview in "The Times," and performing at the Glastonbury Festival.
Maria possesses a rare neurological condition known as synesthesia, which allows her to perceive her songs in different colors.
