Milenko Ačimovič

Early Life and Club Career

Milenko Ačimovič (born February 15, 1967) is a Slovenian former footballer and current coach who played as a midfielder. He began his professional career with NK Koper in 1991, making 33 league appearances in his debut season. His impressive performances caught the attention of Olimpija Ljubljana, who signed him in 1992. Ačimovič spent the next five seasons with Olimpija, becoming a key player and winning four league titles (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995) and two Slovenian Cups (1993, 1996).

After leaving Olimpija in 1997, Ačimovič played for NK Rijeka and NK Koroitan before returning to Koper in 1999. He spent five more seasons with his former club before retiring from professional football in 2004.

International Career

Ačimovič made his international debut for Slovenia in 1992 and went on to earn eight caps, scoring one goal.

Coaching Career

Following his retirement as a player, Ačimovič began his coaching career in 2008 with NK Interblock. He later worked as coach for several Slovenia national youth teams from 2013 to 2018. In 2018, he served as interim head coach of the Slovenian national team, leading them in two matches.
