Early Life and Education
Igor Bogdanov was born in Tolyatti, Russia. His father, Vladimir, was an electrical engineer, and his mother, Ida, was a surgeon. After completing high school, Igor enrolled in the Tolyatti Polytechnic Institute and graduated in 1982 with a degree in electrical engineering.
Political Career
In 1982, Bogdanov began his political career as a master at the Volga Automobile Plant. He quickly rose through the ranks of the Komsomol (Communist Youth League), becoming First Secretary of the Avtozavodsky District Committee in 1986.

In 1988, Bogdanov was elected First Secretary of the Tolyatti City Committee of the Komsomol, the highest-ranking position for the youth organization in the city. During this tenure, he oversaw the activities of district and city Komsomol committees and the city's Pioneer organization.
Post-Soviet Era
Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Bogdanov left politics. In 1991, he became the director of the Bank College, a private educational institution. In 1993, he co-founded the International Academy of Business and Banking, which later became the Tolyatti Academy of Management (TAU).
Tolyatti Academy of Management
Under Bogdanov's leadership as president, TAU established a comprehensive educational system, offering programs from kindergarten to university level. The academy focuses on training young managers and specialists in various fields, including public administration, business, finance, and communication.
Political Involvement
Bogdanov remained politically active in later years. In 2009 and 2013, he ran unsuccessfully as an independent and as a candidate for the Civic Platform party, respectively.
