Igor Kondratyuk is a Ukrainian television host, producer, and showman. He was born on March 14, 1962, in the Kherson region. In school, he worked as an assistant combine operator. He graduated from Kalanchak Secondary School No. 1 with a gold medal in 1979. In 1984, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Physics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, specializing in solid-state optics.
After graduating from university, he worked as a research fellow at the Department of Molecular Biophysics at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He has authored 105 scientific papers on molecular biophysics in collaboration with other scientists. Since 1985, he has been a member of the "What? Where? When?" club.
In 1991, he began his career in television as an editor, showman, and assistant host on the programs "Love at First Sight" and "Brain Ring" on the Ostankino channel in Moscow. He then became the co-organizer and host of matches from "What? Where? When?" and "Brain Ring" featuring stars from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia on UT-1.
In the years 1992-1994, he hosted the game show "5+1" on UT-3, and from 1995-1996, he hosted the program "TV Schedule for Tomorrow" on UT-1. He defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences in 1996.
From 1997-2000, he was a co-author and host of the program "Toys for the Street" on Channel 31 in Moscow. Since 1999, he has been a co-author, producer, and host of the program "Karaoke on Maidan" on Inter, 1+1, and STB channels. In 2006, he hosted the program "Karaoke on Arbat" on TVC in Moscow.
From 2001-2006, he was the host and chief editor of the television program "Intellectual Show LG 'Eureka!' on Inter. From 2003-2008, he was a producer and co-author of the program "Chance." In 2006, he was a producer of the project "Star Duo" on Inter, and in 2007, he was the author and producer of the program "American Chance" on 1+1, which was filmed in the USA. Since 2009, he has been a permanent judge on the show "Ukraine's Got Talent."
Since the fall of 2010, he has been a judge on the singing show X-Factor, despite having no musical education. He is married to Alexandra Gorodetskaya, formerly an accountant and now a financial director. They have three children: Sergey Kondratyuk, who worked as an administrator on the show "Dancing for You," Danila Kondratyuk, who played tennis, and Polina Kondratyuk, who also played tennis and took dance and music lessons. Igor Kondratyuk is a football fan and supports the Kiev-based team "Dynamo." He also writes poetry. He became the first player in the 35-year history of "What? Where? When?" to participate in the game via Skype.
The Kondratyuk family often visits a bowling club where they play bowling, billiards, and arcade games. They also enjoy fishing and horseback riding outside the city during the summer. They love to travel to different countries.
Igor Kondratyuk has received six "Teletreumf" awards, including the Best Musical Program for "Karaoke on Maidan" in 2003 and 2008, Best Children's Program for "Eureka!" in 2003, and Best Entertainment Program for "Chance" in 2004 and 2006. He has produced artists such as Vitaliy Kozlovsky, Natalia Valevska, Assol, and Alyosha.
