Early Life and Education
Political Activism and LeadershipIn 1985, Ivan Krulak graduated from the Lviv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in mechanical engineering and technology. He also obtained a degree from the Ternopil Financial and Economic Institute.
Career in Business and Public Service
After completing his studies, Krulak worked as an engineer-programmer for several companies. From 1991 to 1993, he served as the director of the Mukachevo-based enterprise "Svoiping."
Krulak later held leadership positions at various companies, including Deputy Director and Director of the Uzhgorod-based company "Barva." He also served as Deputy Chairman and First Deputy Chairman of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration from 1999 to 2001.
Political Career
Krulak entered politics in 2006 when he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, as a member of the "Our Ukraine" bloc. In the 2007 snap elections, he again gained a parliamentary mandate on the "Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense" bloc list.
Leadership of "United Center" Party
On March 27, 2008, Krulak was elected the head of the newly formed "United Center" party. Victor Baloha, a prominent Ukrainian politician, is believed to have been the ideological inspiration behind the creation of the party.
