Yevhen Haluza: A Ukrainian Football Legend
Early Life and CareerBorn in Luhansk, Ukraine, Yevhen Haluza is a Ukrainian football player who plays as a central midfielder. He is the younger brother of Serhiy Haluza, also a professional footballer. Haluza started his football journey at the youth academy of Zorya Luhansk, under the tutelage of coaches Oleksandr Shakun and Valeri Galustov.
Professional Club Career
Haluza made his professional debut for Zorya Luhansk. He went on to represent several other clubs throughout his career, including:
- Chornomorets Odessa(Ukraine)
- Dnepr-Transmash Mogilev(Belarus)- Oryol(Russia)
- Siauliai(Lithuania)
Lithuanian Success
In 2006, Haluza joined Siauliai in Lithuania. He enjoyed a remarkable season, becoming the league's second-highest scorer with 16 goals. He also led the league in assists and was named the best foreign player by Futbolas.lt.
Return to Ukraine and Success with Tavriya
Haluza returned to Ukraine in 2006 to play for Tavriya Simferopol. He played a key role in the team's 2009/10 Ukrainian Cup triumph. In total, he made 123 league appearances for Tavriya, scoring 6 goals.
Later Career and Legacy
After leaving Tavriya, Haluza briefly returned to Zorya Luhansk. He has also organized the annual "Dream Cup" youth football tournament with his brother, Serhiy, since 2008.
