Iliana Iotova: Bulgarian Politician and Vice President
Iliana Iotova is a prominent Bulgarian politician and the current Vice President of Bulgaria. Born on October 24, 1964, in Sofia, she has dedicated her life to public service.
Early Life and Education
Iotova holds a prestigious degree in Philology from Sofia University, which she obtained in 1989. Her education laid the foundation for her successful career in journalism and politics.
Political Career
Iotova's political journey began in 2000 when she joined the Supreme Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP). In 2006, she became the Deputy Chair of the BSP's Sofia City Organization. Her remarkable contributions to the party led to her election as the Deputy in the Bulgarian National Assembly in 2005 and as a Member of the European Parliament in 2007.
Vice Presidency
In the pivotal presidential elections of November 2016, Iotova ran as a candidate alongside Rumen Radev, who was elected President. Upon Radev's victory, she assumed the role of Vice President on January 22, 2017.
