Biography of Irina Dorofeeva

Singer Irina Dorofeeva is one of the most touring performers in Belarus, often performing concerts outside of the country. She was born on July 6, 1977 in Mogilev. At the age of 12, Irina began her professional music career as a soloist in the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Raduga" under the direction of Nelly Bordunova. In 1989, she won the First Republican Contest of Young Performers and was invited to join the legendary ensemble "Verasy". From 1997 to May 1999, Irina worked as a soloist with the State Concert Orchestra of Belarus under the direction of Mikhail Finberg. She participated in numerous concerts and festivals, including the anniversary concert of the orchestra at the International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar-97" and performances on Red Square in Moscow. Irina also participated in the project "Workshop of Belarusian Song" by Leonid Pronchak, which aimed to revive interest in the Belarusian language and song. In 2001-2002, Irina's theater group organized a social-humanitarian campaign called "Energy of the New Generation of Young Belarus in the New Millennium", during which she toured all over Belarus, giving more than 435 concerts. She has also participated in international competitions and festivals, successfully representing Belarusian music culture. In addition to her singing career, Irina is a vocal teacher at the Belarusian State University of Culture and a leading stage master at the "Theater of Irina Dorofeeva". She continues to promote Belarusian music and culture and collaborates with artists from other countries. In 2007, she was awarded the honorary title of Merited Artist of the Republic of Belarus.
