Calcagno competed in the shooting event at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. He won a gold medal in the team pistol event and finished eighth in the individual event.
World Championships
In addition to his Olympic success, Calcagno also excelled on the world stage. He was a two-time world champion, winning titles in 1923 and 1924 at the World Championships in Camp Perry, USA. He also claimed a bronze medal in 1922 in Milan, Italy.
