Bonnefoy's Olympic journey began at the 1908 Summer Games in London. He competed in three shooting disciplines, demonstrating his versatility as a marksman. In the 300-meter rifle and army rifle team events, he claimed third and fourth place, respectively. He also finished 19th in the individual 1000-yard rifle shooting competition.
Four years later, Bonnefoy graced the 1912 Summer Games in Stockholm. Once again, he competed in team events, finishing 4th and 5th in the free rifle and army rifle disciplines, respectively. In the individual events, he placed 53rd in the free rifle competition and 50th and 58th in the army rifle competition (prone and three positions).
